2023 Results (4 out of 6)

We decided to fish 6 tournaments this year and out of the six, we had showings in 4 out of 6. We took home our 7th check from South Jersey Tournaments! More importantly, after fishing the White Marlin Open since 2011 and never taking home a check, we finally cracked that and now can say every tournament that we ever fished more than once we have either win, placed or showed.

2020 South Jersey Tuna Tournament

Having learned our lesson from last years results, this year we went all-in for the tournament. We figured that now that we were all in we wouldn't fair as well, and thankfully we were wrong. We ended up with first and second place yellow fin tuna; 1st place heaviest yellow fin stringer; 1st place heaviest overall stringer and third place heaviest Big Eye tuna. As a result we were 1st place overall and took the most money from the tournament. This also became the 6th check received from South Jersey Tournaments!

2019 The Mid-Atlantic

For the prior two years the money for heaviest Blue Marlin went unclaimed as nobody had been able to weigh a qualifying Blue Marlin for the tournament. So you can imagine our excitement when we caught a qualifying Blue Marlin on the last day of the tournament and ran to the scales. We figured we were a shoo-in for heaviest blue, my port heaviest blue, small boat category for heaviest blue and were looking at a huge payout. Much to our surprise when we got to the scales we found out another boat had already weighed a qualifying Blue Marlin. Theirs as it turned out was 20 pounds heavier then our 452 Blue. Within another 30 minutes the scales were weighing additional Blue Marlins and at the end of the day we walked away with 1st place Heaviest Blue for Small boat category, second place my port and 4th place (out of the money) for overall. Still was a nice pay day and was our 5th check in tournament fishing from South Jersey Tournaments over the years.

2019 South Jersey Tuna Tournament

We decided that since we were strictly fishing for blue-fin tuna and not yellow fin we would not maximize our chances with being "all-in" for all Calcutta. This as it turned out was a big mistake. No one caught a Big Eye tuna and therefore that Calcutta was returned to the boats. We caught the heaviest tuna and stringer and took first place in the tournament. Unfortunately, due to our bone head decision when entering, did not receive the highest payout! Still was nice to finally have 2 first place decisions for our resume after all of these years.

2018 Warriors for Warriors Shark/Tuna Tournament
Up to this date, this was one of only two tournaments that we have entered more than twice without receiving any winnings. Our goal this year was to take home a check of some sort. We ended up catching the second place tuna one of the 5 we caught this day and took home almost $3,700.  Onto the White Marlin Open to close out tournament winnings!

2nd Place Tuna

2017 Mid Atlantic 500

On Monday day one of the tournament the Taylor Jean weighed the very first fish brought to the scales. It ended up being a 72# White Marlin and the waiting began. At the end of the day the whit marlin ended up as the heaviest and the game was on. Tuesday came and went and we held onto first. Wednesday and then Thursday came and the boats were bringing in the Whites and still we held onto first place. Then Friday, the last day and what is commonly known as moving day happened and we were beaten by 3 pounds. We ended up with a solid second place win and brought home $217 K. What a week of excitement and breath holding.

2016 Hoffman's Invitational
The crew of the Taylor Jean brought home tunas and mahi-mahi to the docks and weighed in the heaviest Mahi.

2015 Mako Fever
With the lateness of the tournament due to bad weather the weekend before, we headed North to find the fish. On day one we went 10 for 10 on Mako's ranging in size from 80 pounds to approximately 190 pound Mako. We decided to release all of the sharks as we had a second day of fishing and 190 pounds doesn't typically win. When we got back to the docks we found that nobody had weighed a fish and we were beside ourselves. We went out for day two and didn't get one Mako. Again upon returning to the dock we found no other boats had weighed a shark. At this point Karma made an appearance and we won because our name was picked out of a hat!

2014 South Jersey Shark Tournament

2014 Newport Rhode Island Monster Shark Tournament

While we didn't weigh in our Mako as it didn't meet the 200 lb. minimum; we went 21 for 25 on sharks and boated a nice 175 lb. Mako. We caught many blues in the 200 plus category some approached 275. See the picture below that shows our trail and sharks boated.
